Privacy Policy

Your data, plainly.

COLONY is operated by COLONY KOLONY LLC, a company registered in the United States (“we”). This page explains what we collect when you use COLONY, why, who can see it, and how to reach us about it.

What we collect

  • From Google sign-in: your name and email address.
  • What you add yourself: nickname, nationality, role, company, X, Instagram and Telegram handles, website, bio, and wallet addresses — including one you verify by signing a message.
  • What you do in COLONY: who you Bump with, the check points you scan (whether you were within range and how far away you were — not your exact location), the quests you complete and what you submit for them (post links, photos, IDs, email addresses), your points, and the Colony you belong to.
  • To keep the game fair: a device fingerprint taken when you sign up, and your country plus a one-way scrambled form and network prefix of your IP address — never the full address — recorded when you sign up and when you last signed in.
  • If you turn on notifications: the delivery address your browser gives us for push messages.

Why we use it

  • To run the game: points, leaderboards, Colony rankings, quests and prizes.
  • To check that quests were really done, and to get rewards and prizes to the right person.
  • To send you Inbox notifications, the push notifications you've allowed, and announcement emails — which you can turn off in Settings.
  • To spot cheating, such as one person running many accounts.

Who can see it

  • Other members: your name or nickname, badge, points and rank, and the profile details you add.
  • Sponsors and partners: when you complete a sponsor's quest or scan their check point, that sponsor can see your name, nickname, email, Telegram, X, company, nationality and role, plus what you submitted for that quest. Sponsors never see your wallet addresses.
  • The services that run COLONY for us: Vercel (hosting and file storage), Neon (database, in Singapore), Resend (email), Google (sign-in), Privy (wallet verification), twitterapi.io (checking X follows and reposts) and your browser's push notification service.
  • We don't sell your data, and COLONY has no advertising or analytics trackers.

Cookies

  • Only the ones COLONY needs to work: keeping you signed in, remembering your language and the event you picked, and crediting whoever referred you. No advertising or analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

  • For as long as you have an account, unless you ask us to delete it. Inbox notifications are removed automatically after 7 days, except notices about your account's status.

Your choices

  • You can see and change most of what you've added in Profile, and turn off announcement emails in Settings.
  • To get a copy of your data, correct something you can't change yourself, or have your account and data deleted, email us from the address you sign in with.
